PEDIATRIC SURGERY
The hospital presents a full-fledged and dedicated Pediatric Surgical team. The Pediatric Surgery Department is equipped with all the ultra modern facilities including the life support systems for correction of major congenital malformations in neonates like tracheosophageal fistula, anorectal malformations and congenital diaphragmatic hernia. The department also provides highly specialized service in the management of Pediatric trauma, Gastro-intestinal lesions, Tumors in the children and all Genito-urinary problems with high success rates. Both routine and emergency pediatric / neonatal surgeries are performed.

Dr. Ramesh has completed his MBBS & MS (General Surgery) at Karnataka Medical College, Hubli. He completed his M.Ch (Pediatric Surgery) from T N Medical College, Mumbai. Since Bagalkot district has very high incidence of congenital anomalies. He had the opportunity of performing various kinds of neonatal surgeries. He had operated more than 250 cases of Tracheoesophageal Fistula with survival rate of more than 90%. He has special interest in Pediatric Urology (Congenital hydronephrosis, VRU, PUV, etc.) especially Hypospadias. He is also skilled in Pediatric Laparoscopic Surgeries and has done Lap. Diaphragmatic Hernia Repair, Lap. Nephrectomy, Lap. Splenectomy, VATS, etc. at Shanti Hospital.

Dr. Vinaykumar received his medical degree from JJM Medical College Davangere and completed his Pediatric Residency at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health, Bengaluru. He completed a Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship at the Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Science. Bengaluru. He is certified by the Karnataka Medical Council in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology. His special interests include Enchocardiography and Prenatal (Fetal) Cardiac Diagnosis and Management of Children with congenital heart disease.

Dr. Ravi Joshi is a Pediatric Haemato-oncologist with experiance of more than 5 years. He is well trained in management of various pediatric benign and malignant haematological disorders and solid tumors. He has vast experience in the management of pediatric and adult bone marrow transplants patients. He was actively involved in management of over 300 hematopoietic stem cell transplants. These consisted of autologous and allogeneic transplant in children and adults, including matched unrelated and haploidentical transplants with and without T cell depletion.

Dr. Arundhati Patil did her MD from M R Medical College Gulbarga and PG Diploma in Developmental Neurology from CDC Kerala. She went on to do Fellowship in Pediatric Neurology in Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health, after which she went to study Neurology and Neurodisability at Royal Manchester Children`s Hospital, UK. Currently she is professor at M R Medical College, Kalaburagi. She has presented papers in National and International conferences and is very passionate about Preventive and Rehabilitative Neurology. She believes that every child deserves the best and it is the bounden duty of the society to cater to their needs.

She has special interest in Hypothydroidism, Short stature, Precocious puberty, Type 1 diabetes.
